The GREENE 4.0 team took part in Circular Week 2024 in Innsbruck to develop solutions for the circular economy together with stakeholders from business, science and administration. Valuable contacts were made and the green transformation in the industrial sector was advanced.

In mid-September, the GREENE 4.0 team took part in Circular Week 2024, which was organized by the Standortagentur Tirol. As the name suggests, Circular Week was dedicated to the circular economy and provided a platform for numerous experts from business, science and public institutions to network and exchange ideas on sustainable solutions. GREENE 4.0 was able to fit in perfectly with the other INTERREG projects and actively contribute to the discussion.

The GREENE 4.0 team, consisting of Prof. (FH) Dr. Mario Situm and Selina-Maria Schiller, MSc, established valuable contacts with Tyrolean stakeholders from various sectors interested in implementing sustainability strategies and circular economy. The focus was on exchanging ideas with decision-makers from public administration, including representatives of the state of Tyrol, as well as with private companies (consulting firms, manufacturing companies), public institutions such as the Climate Alliance and Innsbrucker Kommunalbetriebe AG, and the scientific community with the participation of the University of Innsbruck.

WHO PAYS FOR THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY?

One highlight of the event was a workshop dedicated to the central question: Who bears the costs of the circular economy? This question led to intensive discussions between the participants.
“The diversity of professional backgrounds opened up enlightening and profound perspectives on the challenges and opportunities of financing sustainable business models,” sums up Selina-Maria Schiller, GREENE 4.0 project manager.

GREENE 4.0'S SUCCESSFUL CONTRIBUTION TO CIRCULAR WEEK 2024

The GREENE 4.0 team was able to establish valuable new contacts and gain insights for the further development of its own work packages by participating in Circular Week 2024. “Circular Week was an ideal opportunity to reflect on and further develop our approaches to promoting the circular economy in exchange with leading players in Tyrol,” comments Mario Situm. Through active dialog with stakeholders, GREENE 4.0 was able to help underscore the importance of green and digital transformation in the field of industrial manufacturing.
