COURSE PROFILE
LEARNING OUTCOMES
After completing this online course, you will be able to:
- represent and link mathematical sets, relationships, and connections
- confidently apply variables, expressions, formulas, and mathematical rules
- solve linear, quadratic, and simple exponential equations formulate and
- evaluate inequalities analyze basic functions and
- interpret their slopes
- calculate with powers, roots, and logarithms
- work on mathematical problems in a structured manner
- follow logical arguments and draw mathematical conclusions.

The course is based on the following textbook:
J. Schwarze. Mathematik für Wirtschaftswissenschaftler: Elementare Grundlagen für Studienanfänger. Nwb-Verlag, Berlin, 2003 oder neuere Auflage.

DATES OF ADDITIONAL EXAMINATIONS
The additional examinations must be successfully completed within the first two semesters. We recommend that you take the first examination directly after the preparation course. This gives you two more opportunities to retake examinations in the event of a negative assessment.
