Frequently Asked Questions
Which application documents are required?
To get to know you better, we need a current CV with your most important experiences and achievements. You are also welcome to enclose a cover letter to tell us more about yourself. Proof of professional experience, training and references or letters of recommendation are helpful. If further information is required, we will be happy to contact you.
What does the application process look like?
Upon receipt of your application, we will carefully review your documents. If you are among the most qualified candidates, you will be invited to a personal interview at HOK. Depending on the position, if we need more time to make a decision, a second interview may be arranged, possibly with the team you would be working with, so you can meet your potential colleagues. If the decision is in your favor, we will contact you with a contract offer.
For professorships, after your application has been reviewed, you will be asked to give a test lecture on a predetermined topic, followed by a hearing with the hiring committee. The top candidates will be ranked and invited to a second interview at Kufstein university, where you will also meet your future team members. If you are selected, we will be happy to offer you a contract.
Throughout the application process, we will keep you informed of your status.
How long does the application process take?
Our goal is to make a decision as quickly as possible and to keep the application process as short as possible - also in the interest of the applicant. Of course, due to the nature of the position or the large number of applications we receive, we may sometimes need more time than planned to review your application.
However, we want to take the time to do this, so we ask for your understanding if the selection process takes a little longer. We will keep you informed of any delays in the process.
What do we attach great importance to in applications?
It is important to us that your application is thorough and includes all required documents. We value personal interaction, so we would appreciate it if you would contact us beforehand to inquire about the position you are interested in.
Before your interview, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with HOK by exploring our website - it is well worth a visit. During the interview, we emphasize respectful interaction, creating a comfortable atmosphere and encouraging open communication.
How does onboarding work?
On your first day at HOK, we will take care of the onboarding formalities with you and provide you with a comprehensive information package. Before you head to your new workplace, we will give you a welcome tour of the building and introduce you to our employees.
Afterwards, you will usually meet your manager and be welcomed by your team. We are also happy to arrange a shared lunch on your first day to help everyone get to know each other.
During your first few weeks, you will receive thorough training for your role and professional support from your team. You will also gain insight into other specialist areas, departments, and degree programs through our Bereichsturnus, a structured rotation through different areas of the university. Held at regular intervals, it gives you a holistic understanding of the wide range of tasks and responsibilities across HOK.
