International students start the winter semester

The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol welcomed 93 international students from 21 countries for the winter semester 2024. After an opening speech and intercultural activities, the participants got to know each other better. The day ended with a dinner together in the diner and a party in Kufstein.
The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol recently welcomed a new group of international students for the winter semester 2020. A total of 93 exchange students from 21 different countries have started their journey to Kufstein to begin their semester abroad and open a new chapter in their academic careers.
A WARM WELCOME AND INTERCULTURAL EXCHANGE CHARACTERIZE THE START
The day began with a warm welcome from the rector of the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein, Prof. (FH) Dr. Mario Döller, and the CEO, Prof. (FH) Dr. Thomas Madritsch. In their speeches, they emphasized the importance of international cooperation and the wide range of academic and cultural opportunities at the University of Applied Sciences.
Afterwards, the students were introduced to the different cultures represented on campus. To promote intercultural understanding, a short group exercise was conducted in which students were able to interactively explore the diversity of their new environment.
A special highlight of the first day was the networking game Find somebody who. In this game, students had to actively approach each other in order to discover similarities and get to know each other better. The relaxed atmosphere ensured that initial friendships were quickly formed and a lively exchange took place between the participants.
CAMPUS TOUR, INTERNATIONAL DINNER AND EXUBERANT WELCOME PARTY
After the interactive part, the exchange students explored the facilities of the University of Applied Sciences during a campus tour. At the end of the day, there was a dinner in the cafeteria, where both traditional Austrian dishes and international food were served.
The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) organized a welcome party, which was the crowning finale of the successful opening event. The atmosphere was exuberant and the students' enthusiasm was clearly tangible. Many emphasized how much they are looking forward to the coming months in Kufstein and that they already feel in good hands and well integrated.
The FH Kufstein Tirol is looking forward to another semester full of cultural exchange, exciting academic challenges and unforgettable experiences.
