International students explored the Christmas market in Kufstein City Park as part of the Connect Program.
At the end of November 2025, eight international students explored the Kufstein Christmas market together and learned about Austrian Christmas traditions. At the same time, they got an atmospheric glimpse into a real Tyrolean winter wonderland.
Eight students from the Connect program met on Wednesday, 27. November 2025, for a pre-Christmas stroll through the Kufstein Christmas market. The activity offered international first-year students the opportunity to learn about local customs and make new contacts at the same time. From the city center, they headed together toward the old town, where the group immersed themselves in the festive atmosphere.
EXPERIENCE TRADITIONS FIRST HAND
The visit gave participants a vivid impression of how Advent is celebrated in Tyrol. Amidst craft stalls, fairy lights, and winter scents, the students sampled typical delicacies and warmed themselves with mulled wine. The winter setting encouraged them to share personal stories about holiday traditions from their own countries. “It was exciting to see how differently holidays are celebrated and how much we can learn from each other,” said one participant.
GET-TOGETHER AND INTERACTION
Together with the students, the Connect Program supervisors explored the market. The twinkling lights, Christmas aromas, and exuberant atmosphere created an ambiance that was both lively and nostalgic. Exploring together fostered an open environment in which cultural and personal experiences were naturally exchanged. “Activities like this really help new students feel at home in Kufstein quickly,” says a member of the Connect Program.
