The atmosphere at the Kufstein Library for Science and Leisure (kubi) was lively and filled with eager anticipation.
Comics, gaming, and creative activities: At kubinight at the Kufstein Library for Science and Leisure (kubi), teens immersed themselves in new worlds, explored the library in a fun and interactive way, and enjoyed an afternoon full of action, ideas, and camaraderie—leaving them eager for more.
For the third time, the Kufstein Library for Science and Leisure (kubi) opened its doors for kubinight—transforming the library into a stage for comics, gaming, and plenty of creativity. Under the theme “Comics & Gaming,” young people aged 12 to 15 were treated to a varied afternoon full of action, games, and new discoveries.
To turn this idea into a vibrant event, students from the part-time bachelor's degree program in Sports, Culture & Event Management at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol supported the organization and program planning as part of a practical project. With fresh ideas and a great deal of dedication, they helped create a format that leaves you wanting more—and brings the library to life as a place for people to come together.
A WORLD FULL OF COMICS AND VIDEO GAMES
A diverse program invited visitors to immerse themselves in the world of comics and video games—and to rediscover the Kufstein Library for Science and Leisure (kubi) in a whole new light. At Nintendo Switch stations, visitors engaged in fast-paced duels in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, while a comic quiz using Actionbound playfully guided them through the library and conveyed knowledge about comics in an entertaining way.
A particular highlight was the comic workshop led by artist Bianca (biancasartstuff), who was on hand as a guest to share her creative insights. With plenty of imagination, the participants created their own characters, short stories, and individual drawings—a clear reflection of the young people’s enthusiasm.
The prizes also brought a sparkle to everyone’s eyes. Prizes up for grabs in the comic quiz and a guessing game included:
- a goodie bag from Sparkasse Kufstein,
- a Nendoroid figure from Among Us from LootBox Kufstein,
- two gift certificates from LootBox Kufstein,
- two vouchers from EscapeGame Kufstein,
- as well as two tickets to the WaterArea at AREA 47.
And so the Kubinight turned into an evening filled with games, creativity, and shared experiences.
THOUGHTFULLY DESIGNED – EFFECTIVELY IMPLEMENTED
When planning kubinight, special emphasis was placed on adhering to Green Event criteria: The event relied on regional partners, eco-friendly materials, and a resource-efficient organizational approach. These aspects were also deliberately highlighted in communications to set an example of responsible event planning.
The goal of kubinight was to introduce young people to the wide range of opportunities offered by the Kufstein Library for Science and Leisure (kubi) and to inspire them to visit again—as a place for connection, creativity, and new inspiration—and left them looking forward to the next event.
