Following a successful event, the practice project team looks back proudly on what they achieved together.

For 24 hours, Kufstein became a stage for community, activity and connection with free sports and exercise opportunities throughout the city. A special highlight of the Kufstein24 format was the talk by extreme cycling professional Phillip Kaider, who shared personal insights into his experiences in elite sport.

For the ninth time this spring, Kufstein was transformed by Kufstein24 into a stage for sport, movement and community. Under the motto Sport connects, residents were able to take part in free sports activities across the city for 24 hours, from Friday, 8 May, 5 p.m. to Saturday, 9 May, 5 p.m., and experience movement in an accessible and low-threshold way.

The event was once again planned, organised and carried out by students from the full-time bachelor’s degree programme in Sports, Culture & Event Management at FH Kufstein Tirol. The sense of satisfaction about the successful event was also clearly felt within the project team: “Seeing how many people supported, attended and helped shape Kufstein24 was an incredible feeling for our entire team and the greatest reward for months of preparation.”

Sports Program and Highlight Talk with Phillip Kaider

Compared to the previous year, the programme was designed in a more compact way overall in order to offer participants better orientation and easier access to the event. Despite this more focused structure, the programme remained diverse: from classic ball sports to hiking and yoga, as well as various martial arts, there was something for everyone. Kufstein Judo Club welcomed numerous participants, as did the Association for Japanese Martial Arts, which presented its wide-ranging repertoire.

The children’s activity station at FH Kufstein Tirol, as well as the Pilates and stretching classes, were also especially well attended. At Impuls Fitness, participants could choose from a wide range of fitness classes, while Invibe Fitness hosted the Thenex Running Club’s 24-hour challenge. The programme was complemented by sports such as beach volleyball, badminton, basketball, spikeball and many other activities, once again making Kufstein24 a varied and inspiring sporting experience.

Visitors were also treated to an inspiring talk from the world of sport. Extreme cycling professional Phillip Kaider took more than 50 participants on a journey through his personal experiences of pushing limits, setbacks and triumphs. By sharing insights into his victory at the 2025 Race Across America, Kaider provided an impressive picture of his personal path in elite sport.

Practical Project as a Guide to Future Careers

Kufstein24 is an integral part of the practice-oriented education at FH Kufstein Tirol. As part of the project, students have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge gained during their studies directly in practice by independently planning, organising and implementing a sports event. At the same time, the format actively involves local citizens by creating accessible opportunities for physical activity and bringing people together across the city in a variety of ways. This means that Kufstein24 goes beyond being a purely educational project and also gains social relevance: it promotes movement, strengthens the sense of community and demonstrates how sport can bring people together.
