During brainstorming sessions, the students gathered creative ideas for a new YouTube concept.

Students in the Bachelor's program in Marketing & Communication Management developed a concept for the relaunch of the YouTube channel of the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol. From analysis and strategy to visual design – a project with long-term benefit.

As part of their practical project, students in the Bachelor's program in Marketing & Communication Management developed a strategic concept for restructuring the YouTube presence of the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol. The objectives were to structure the profile more clearly, integrate it better into existing university communications, and strengthen it as a central information platform for students, prospective students, and external target groups. In the future, the presence is supposed to not only look more professional, but also provide more targeted content.

ALL THE WAY FROM CONCEPT TO ROLLOUT

The starting point for the students was to analyze comparable YouTube channels from universities in Austria as well as abroad in order to identify successful approaches and design patterns. Based on this, the group developed a strategic concept that builds the channel along the customer journey – from attracting attention to providing the target groups with relevant information on a long-term basis. In practical implementation, the team members created new playlists and supplemented them with edited titles and captions in German and English. This also directly addresses the university's international target group. From the format Stories behind Students, everyday student life on campus or life in Kufstein to information about semesters abroad, the YouTube channel provides insights into the many facets of student life and opens up perspectives far beyond the scope of studying. The channel header, which has already been published, and the design templates created for thumbnails form the basis for a consistent appearance.

IT WAS A GREAT PROJECT WHERE EVERYONE IN THE TEAM COULD CONTRIBUTE THEIR STRENGTHS – WHETHER IN DESIGN, STRATEGY OR IMPLEMENTATION.

By the end of the project, the university will have a professional, targeted presence on YouTube that will enable its systematic ongoing development.

IMPRESSIVE RESULTS

The practical project offered students the opportunity to apply their specialist knowledge in a practical setting. In doing so, they gained valuable experience in project organization and implementation. The results can already be seen on the YouTube channel - well worth checking out!
