Surprise at the turntables: Lektor Selektor impresses

When the DJs hit the decks, no one can keep their feet still: the Lektor Selektor Party transformed the Kulturfabrik into a seething dance floor. Favorite hits, live voting, and a surprise show created a festival atmosphere in the heart of Kufstein.
The popular practical project Lektor Selektor took place again this academic year at the Kulturfabrik Kufstein. At the beginning of December 2025, the lecturers at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol transformed the stage into an exciting party zone with their personal favorite hits, creating a lively atmosphere.
Around 200 students, teachers, and staff members from the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol took the opportunity to celebrate, dance, and enjoy an unforgettable evening filled with music, new encounters, and good cheer.
The event was organized by students from the Bachelor's degree program in Sports, Culture & Event Management as part of their practical project. They were responsible for the technology, scheduling, and program planning, gaining valuable practical experience in the implementation of real events.
FIVE BRAVE LECTURERS TRIED THEIR DESTINY AT THE DJ'S DECK
Even before the official start, visitors were able to get into the game with beer pong before the dance floor opened at eight o'clock. Five courageous lecturers took on the musical challenge: Prof. (FH) PD Dr. Mario Döller, Prof. (FH) Dr. Peter Dietrich, Dipl.-Kfm. Karin Steiner, BEd MA Bettina Anker, and Asc. Prof. (FH) Michael Petke thrilled the guests with their personal favorite hits. One after the other, the team of lecturers got the crowd going and created an exuberant atmosphere at the Kulturfabrik Kufstein for almost two and a half hours.
A special highlight was the first-time involvement of a five-member student jury, which, together with a live audience vote, decided on the best DJ of the evening. In addition, a new tradition was introduced: the Lecturer-Selector Challenge Cup. The trophy, designed in the Makers Lab at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol, will be awarded to the winners every year, giving the competition a special significance.
SURPRISING SHOW ENTRY AND TIGHT DECISION
After the DJ sets by the officially participating professors, Prof. (FH) Dr. Mario Situm took over the turntables by surprise and provided another highlight before the final decision was made. Bettina Anker ultimately secured the title of Lektor Selektor 2025 with an energetic set of rock classics. Despite the close decision, beaming faces dominated – both among the participants and in the audience.
Afterwards, guests and lecturers relaxed and enjoyed the evening at the after-show party with DJ Lolo. The consistently exuberant atmosphere was particularly impressive: the enthusiasm of the lecturers in this unusual and relaxed environment was palpable. It was an all-round successful party that noticeably increased the anticipation for the 8th edition of Lektor Selektor.
