Founding father of Kufstein University honored

UAS founding father Walter J. Mayr celebrated his milestone birthday - UAS CEO Managing Director Thomas Madritsch congratulated him on behalf of the UAS team. Walter J. Mayr has now also been awarded the City of Rosenheim's Medal of Merit.
In addition to his services to the founding of the University of Applied Sciences in Kufstein, Prof. KommR Walter J. Mayr, MBA is also responsible for the founding of the Euregio Inntal and has now been honored with the Medal of Merit of the City of Rosenheim.
The founder of the Kufstein University - Prof. KommR Walter J. Mayr, MBA - celebrated his 80th birthday in October. Through his initiative, the Honorary President of the FH made a decisive contribution to the establishment of a University of Applied Sciences in Kufstein in 1997. The CEO Managing Director of the Kufstein University, Prof. (FH) Dr. Thomas Madritsch, warmly congratulated the jubilarian and also conveyed the congratulations of the FH team.
FURTHER MERITS FOR COOPERATION HONORED
Walter J. Mayr is also one of the founding fathers of the Euregio Inntal - an association of the districts of Rosenheim and Traunstein, the city of Rosenheim and the districts of Kitzbühel and Kufstein. The Euregio Inntal is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year - a visible sign that the cross-border cooperation between Bavaria and Tyrol has proven its worth over the decades. Walter J. Mayr has now been awarded the Medal of Merit of the City of Rosenheim at a Euregio General Assembly.
Daniel Artmann, Member of the Bavarian State Parliament and 2nd Mayor of the City of Rosenheim, presented the award to Euregio Honorary President Prof. KommR Walter J. Mayr, MBA, in recognition of his commitment to the well-being and reputation of the City of Rosenheim. “Rosenheim has always been able to rely on your support for cross-border projects. Be it the various collaborations between our Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences and the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol, the cooperation with our digital start-up center Stellwerk 18 or in joint tourism projects,” said Artmann.
