With a camera and a creative concept: Moritz Dolch combines his studies with video production.
Moritz Dolch combines creative video production with strategic thinking in his studies of marketing and communications management. His own projects, time management, and brand understanding shape his approach to storytelling and practice.
Moritz Dolch studies Marketing & Communication Management at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol and has been implementing his own video projects for outdoor brands since early 2024. Using a camera and drone, he develops content that combines storytelling, brand impact, and strategic thinking. His studies help him to transfer theoretical knowledge into practice in a targeted manner and to implement creative projects professionally.
COMBINING STUDIES AND own VIDEO PROJECTS
Dolch structures his week precisely in order to combine his studies and film work. “My studies and my video projects can be combined very well if you create a clear structure,” he says. Through consistent time management, he creates space for filming, editing, and project development without neglecting his academic tasks. He considers the direct application of theoretical content to ongoing projects to be particularly valuable.
THE PATH TO VIDEO PRODUCTION
His passion for film began in early 2024 with the purchase of his first drone. His first shots in the mountains quickly developed from a hobby into a creative focus. “This spontaneous interest quickly turned into a real passion, which I developed alongside my studies,” says Dolch. He acquired the necessary knowledge through tutorials - from camera work and editing techniques to post-production. Regular projects helped him deepen his understanding of visual storytelling.
COMBINING CREATIVITY AND STRATEGY
In Dolch's view, an effective brand video requires above all a strong idea that immediately grabs attention. Image quality and equipment are important, but what really matters is a clear hook and an emotional narrative. Authenticity and the connection to brand values play a particularly central role for him.
THIS SPONTANEOUS INTEREST QUICKLY DEVELOPED INTO A GENUINE PASSION, WHICH I CONTINUED TO DEVELOP PARALLEL TO MY STUDIES.

Even though the course does not teach film techniques, it provides him with an essential foundation for the strategic orientation of his projects. Target group analysis, positioning, and communication planning help him to implement videos in a brand-compliant and targeted manner. He considers the combination of creativity and strategy to be the key to convincing results.
SPECIAL PROJECTS AND MOTIVATION
One outdoor project that combined landscape photography with an emotional story has remained particularly memorable for him. The strong response on social media confirmed the impact of the concept and motivated him to continue refining his work and trying out new approaches.
Dolch emphasizes the importance of passion and routine: “The key is to get started, stick with it, and practice regularly.” He sees personal projects - independent of clients - as the ideal space for continuous improvement. Careful planning also makes it easier to combine studying and creative work, so that projects eventually become self-sustaining.

When working on client projects, Dolch takes care to balance creative freedom with brand guidelines. Outdoor brands inspire him in particular, as they convey freedom and adventure - values that are evident in his images.
Conclusion
Moritz Dolch demonstrates how creative work and strategic thinking reinforce each other. By combining his studies, camera, and drone, he creates videos that are visually impressive and clearly convey brand messages. Each project offers him the opportunity to try new things and further develop what he has learned.
