A celebratory conclusion on the roof terrace: Director of studies Asc. Prof. (FH) Dipl.-Ing. Christian Huber (far left) congratulated the proud winners of the Young Scientist Energy Award together with the expert jury.
56 pre-university research papers from Germany, Austria, Italy, and Turkey were submitted to the Young Scientist Energy Award. Seven of them impressed the expert jury from the degree programs in Energy & Sustainability Management and Facility & Real Estate Management.
The Young Scientist Energy Award (YSEA), presented annually since 2017, recognizes pre-university research projects such as term papers, diploma theses, or seminar papers that address topics in the fields of energy, sustainability, and the environment. A total of 56 projects from four countries were submitted. A panel of experts evaluated the submissions and awarded prizes to seven projects.
The topics ranged from sustainability in beer brewing – how to avoid waste? and AI is here to stay – efficient usage of digitalization in early childhood education to rethinking sustainability: the role of post-growth, artificial intelligence, and the sharing economy for a future-proof economy. The wide range of topics and the high quality of the submissions made the jury's selection difficult.
“We were fascinated by the diverse ideas and the variety of topics submitted. The pupil address current issues and rise to the challenges,” said jury member Asc. Prof. (FH) Dipl.-Ing. Christian Huber, Director of the Energy & Sustainability Management and Facility & Real Estate Management programs.
