Learning outcomes of the courses/module

The participants:
• actively shape the formation of well-functioning student teams and take responsibility for shared tasks.
• apply basic communication and feedback techniques in order to interact with one another respectfully and in a solution-oriented way.
• recognise and reflect on group processes, roles and dynamics in newly formed teams.
• develop and test, in course-accompanying academic settings, strategies for constructive conflict resolution and for dealing with different personality and working styles within their student cohort.
• foster a positive, learning-friendly team culture through cooperative behavior, openness and empathy.
• analyze, in the context of everyday study life, individual and organizational factors influencing the work-life balance of students and derive situation-specific measures for regulating their own workload that can be integrated into the course of the semester.
• assess gender-related inequalities in work and learning contexts and develop measures to promote non-discriminatory, gender-inclusive collaboration.

- Fundamentals of intercultural communication
- Communication styles, value orientations and dealing with misunderstandings
- Team roles and decision-making processes in culturally diverse groups
- Intercultural conflict patterns and resolution strategies
- Building trust, empathy and perspective-taking in international contexts
- Diversity, inclusion and ethical dimensions of collaboration
- Reflection on one's own cultural background and communication preferences
- Models and methods for analysing stressors and resources (work-life balance)
- Mechanisms of gender roles, bias and structural disadvantage, as well as practical approaches to designing gender-inclusive work and learning environments
- Practical exercises on team building and collaboration in international settings
