Learning outcomes of the courses/module

The participants:
• analyze energy-consumption structures in buildings and identify optimization potential with regard to efficiency and resource use.
• evaluate energy-saving measures and calculate their economic and ecological effects.
• develop concepts for integrating the circular economy and resource efficiency into FM processes.
• reflect on the role of facility management in the context of the energy transition and communicate sustainability strategies in an audience-appropriate way to technical and commercial stakeholders.

Course content

- Energy efficiency in building operations: analysis, monitoring and optimization
- Life cycle costs, CO₂ accounting and energy management systems
- Principles of the circular economy: material cycles, re-use & re-design
- Regulatory and normative fundamentals
- Practical examples of energy-efficiency projects and circular building concepts
