Learning outcomes of the courses/module

The students:
• understand current developments and international trends in transformation, restructuring, and turnaround management.
• are familiar with different functional and interdisciplinary perspectives while considering various stakeholder interests.
• are able to assess opportunities, risks, and impacts of strategic management decisions.
• are able to apply international management approaches and practice-oriented solutions to business-related problems.

Course content

The course series “Trends in Management” consists of four consecutive courses conducted over several semesters, addressing current topics and international developments in the fields of transformation, restructuring, and turnaround management. With the involvement of visiting professors as well as experts from academia and practice, various business-related issues, international standards, best practices, and innovative solution approaches are discussed and critically reflected upon. The course contents are aligned with current economic, technological, financial, organizational, and strategic developments and may particularly include topics from the following areas:
• Strategic Management and Controlling
• Corporate Governance, Leadership, and Human Resources
• Restructuring, Reorganization, and Turnaround Management
• Innovation, Digitalization, and Transformation
• Finance, Accounting, and Performance Management
• Project, Change, and Crisis Management
• International Management Approaches and Best Practices
• Sustainability, ESG, and current developments in academia and business practice
