Learning outcomes of the courses/module

The participants:
• can implement storage concepts themselves in the context of a specific problem
• can design the implementation of these systems with a view to scalability and operational requirements

Prerequisites for the course

Students have prior knowledge in the field of information technology amounting to 6 ECTS and are therefore familiar with the concept of the relational database and can read simple SQL queries.

Course content

The following topics are discussed in the course:

- Design and implementation of problem-centered NoSQL databases (e.g. key-value stores, document stores, column-oriented data stores, etc.)
- Design and implementation of storage solutions for large volumes of data (big data)
