Learning outcomes of the courses/module

The participants:
• are able to independently analyze, interpret and critically reflect on data using a self-selected academic methodology.
• can present results in a comprehensible manner and in accordance with academic standards within the framework of the master's thesis.
• are able to develop and actively refine arguments and solutions to problems.
• are able to present and defend the results of the master's thesis.

Prerequisites for the course

Content from all courses with cross-links to the topic of the master's thesis across the entire program, in particular Research Methods I-III, Academic Writing and MA-Camp

Course content

• Deepening knowledge of academic work with regard to developing and implementing a research design and structuring the writing process
• Academic writing with MS Word or LaTeX
• Time-series and/or panel data (as needed)
• Advanced procedures such as the Tobit model or Poisson regression (as needed)
• Regular meetings on the current status and progress of the master's thesis with the accompanying academic supervisor
• Information on the oral master's examination before the committee
