The participants:
• will be able to explain and critically discuss core concepts underpinning the governance of modern global sports, including ideas related to autonomy, neutrality and the overall structure of sports.
• will be able to critically evaluate good governance practices and plan the implementation of sports governance principles in practice.
• will be able to reflect critically on institutions and regularities as well as socio-political contexts of European and international sports and cultural policy.

Course content
Key concepts underpinning global sports governance – including autonomy, neutrality and structural issues – are presented and critically discussed. Principles and concepts of good governance are discussed, and students reflect on the practical implementation of such standards. The overall structure of global sports is likewise presented and analyzed.
