The participants:
• describe and classify basic building typologies according to use, function, and construction principle.
• analyze typical spatial structures as well as the circulation and functional relationships of different building categories.

- Introduction to building and structure typology
- Systematics and classification of buildings (residential, administrative, commercial, industrial, and special-purpose buildings)
- Spatial organization, circulation principles, building geometry
- The relationship between building type, use, and technical infrastructure
- Fundamentals of functional, building-physics, and regulatory requirements
- Analysis and interpretation of planning documents for selected building types
- Systematics and classification of buildings (residential, administrative, commercial, industrial, and special-purpose buildings)
- Spatial organization, circulation principles, building geometry
- The relationship between building type, use, and technical infrastructure
- Fundamentals of functional, building-physics, and regulatory requirements
- Analysis and interpretation of planning documents for selected building types
