Learning outcomes of the courses/module

The participants:
• explain the principles of academic work, research logic, and academic integrity.
• research, evaluate, and cite academic sources in compliance with copyright and citation standards.
• apply digital tools and assistance systems in a targeted and reflective manner within the research process.
• apply descriptive and exploratory statistics.
• interpret and visualize empirical results in tables, charts, or short reports.
• reflect on the importance of scientific methodology for well-founded decisions in facility & real estate management, in the context of scientific responsibility.

Prerequisites for the course

Basic knowledge of statistics and academic working methods from school or vocational training

- Fundamentals of academic work and the principles of good academic practice
- Copyright, citation rules, and plagiarism avoidance
- Structure of academic texts and the research process
- Introduction to empirical methods: qualitative and quantitative approaches
- Descriptive statistics and simple data analyses
- Use of digital tools and assistance systems
- Data visualization and documentation of results
