Learning outcomes of the courses/module

The participants:
• acquire a basic understanding of scientific work.
• are familiar with central concepts, theories and empirical findings of scientific theory as well as methods of knowledge generation and presentation.
• are able to apply these theoretical principles to scientific questions and reflect critically on them in relation to their future professional practice.
• are able to analyze scientific texts, integrate them into their own body of knowledge and use them to develop concepts for action appropriate to the target group.
• develop the ability to recognize and work on interdisciplinary issues and to present their solutions in a structured and targeted manner.

Course content

The course introduces academic research and imparts background and practical knowledge for the preparation of seminar papers. The students acquire an understanding and practical skills for the research, acquisition and evaluation of academic literature as well as the hermeneutic and rational-reconstructive processing of academic texts. In addition, they develop an understanding and practical skills for writing academic texts.
