Learning outcomes of the courses/module

The participants:
• analyze complex project structures in facility & real estate management and derive from them critical success factors as well as risks for different stakeholder groups
• evaluate advanced project management methods (agile-hybrid-traditional) with regard to their suitability for various FM/RE use cases and structure project-relevant decision-making processes.
• design iterative innovation processes based on the Design Thinking model and develop user-centered solution approaches for complex problems in real estate and building operations.
• critically reflect on their own project and innovation practice and derive improvement strategies to enhance team performance, user orientation and solution quality.

Fundamentals of project management

Course content

- Hybrid and agile project management frameworks
- Stakeholder, risk and complexity analysis in life-cycle-oriented construction and existing-building projects
- Design Thinking & user research in buildings using personas, customer journeys, service blueprints
- Rapid prototyping for building, service and process innovations
