The participants:
• analyze core concepts of regional economics, compare theoretical growth approaches and assess their relevance for European and Austrian regions.
• examine the significance of space in economic models, interpret regional development models and derive implications for regional policy.
• diagnose economic-geography problems, structure spatial data sets and select suitable methods for identifying, visualizing and assessing regional economic phenomena.
• analyze real estate markets, assess market mechanisms and develop well-founded assessments of price formation and location processes.
• critically transfer economic analysis methods to real estate issues and evaluate their explanatory power for management and investment decisions.

- Introduction to core concepts of regional economics, regional growth theories and urban and regional development
- Analysis of the objectives, instruments and mechanisms of Austrian and European regional policy
- Application of spatial data and methods, including the fundamentals of spatial econometrics
- Understanding the macroeconomic role of real estate markets within the micro- and macroeconomic environment
- In-depth study of real estate economics fundamentals such as market mechanisms, price formation and demographic factors
- Examination of risks and market phenomena such as real estate price bubbles
- Application of portfolio-theory approaches to real estate issues
- Analysis of the objectives, instruments and mechanisms of Austrian and European regional policy
- Application of spatial data and methods, including the fundamentals of spatial econometrics
- Understanding the macroeconomic role of real estate markets within the micro- and macroeconomic environment
