Learning outcomes of the courses/module

The participants:
• can reflect on their own experiences and developments within the team and derive courses of action for successful collaboration.
• are able to recognize the strengths of cultural diversity and use them productively for teamwork.
• apply models of team phases and team roles to more complex, international contexts and develop strategies for successful collaboration.
• can analyze cultural differences using Hofstede's cultural dimensions and assess their impact on communication and cooperation.
• develop practical competencies in dealing with cross-cultural challenges (e.g., conflict resolution, decision-making processes, role understanding) in teams.

Prerequisites for the course

Course content

• In-depth study and application of the concepts of team phases (Tuckman) and team roles (Belbin) to the development of the cohort team
• Introduction and application of Hofstede's model of cultural dimensions
• Exercises and case studies on cross-cultural communication, conflict resolution and decision-making
• Reflection on one's own team role and further development of individual strengths in a cross-cultural context
• Transfer: the importance of cultural diversity for international work contexts and globally networked organizations
