The participants:
• are able to understand the connection between research and evidence-based decision-making, and explain main principles of scientific research in the sports, culture and event sectors.
• are able to comprehend the logic of scientific inquiry, including the aims, strengths, and limitations of empirical social science research.
• are able to recognize the importance of core theoretical assumptions within the research process in sports, culture and event management.
• are able to understand the roles of theory, conceptualization, and theoretical frameworks in guiding research.
• are able to evaluate and apply a range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies to explore, describe and explain social phenomena within the three disciplines.
• are able to systematically develop and methodically articulate a research design in sports, culture and event management appropriate for a Master’s level.
• are able to design research instruments aligned with research objectives.

- Differences and interfaces between qualitative and quantitative social research with a focus on sports, culture, and event management
- Development of research design and research planning
- Sampling strategies and sample selection in qualitative and quantitative studies
- Instruments for qualitative and quantitative data collection
- Methods of data analysis: qualitative content analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis
- Examples of empirical studies from sports, culture and event management
